Sitting on a sandbank at low tide, no one else around but feeling very safe and relaxed. No houses, just beach and clear sea!

It is a bit of a drive from West End to this beach but it is worth the trip. Beautiful, sandy beech with no development in either direction for a long ways. Quiet, with nobody selling nothing.

Really worth driving (30 min from downtown Freeport) and walking (5-10mn from The National Lucayan Park's parking across the road) to there!! Crystal clear water in a wildlife environment where one just forgets everything!!!

Best at low tide, but always beautiful. Amazingly clear water. Generally few people as far as you can see, with the exception being times the cruise tours are there. Saw a large ray, starfish, crabs. Lovely path from the parking area as this is part...More

You want to spend time at the beach? Gold Rock is the best beach on the island. My family visited this beach and we did NOT want to leave.

Pack a lunch and bring sunscreen and bug spray but this place is worth hanging out for a while very Scenic and it was the sight of where they film the Pirates of Caribbean movie

We loved our visit to Gold Rock Beach, even though it worked out that we went at high tide. I REALLY wanted to go at low tide, but it didn't work out. I was still able to walk WAY out with my 7 year old...More

We rented a car for the day for 92 dollars and was able to explore on our own without being tied to a tour guide. If you can brave driving on the left side of the road and round abouts then you're golden.

I was just in Freeport a few weeks ago and there are car rentals at the port. However, there are a lot of local taxi/van drivers that provide sightseeing tours and that will pick you up at the cruise port and deliver you... More
