We decided to visit the plant preserve on one of the first days of our trip and we all loved it. You meander through well defined trails and learn about vegetation in the Bahamas. My children loved the area with turtles, but my favorite part was the look-out tower. It was an adventure to find it but worth it. The... More

Very informative and interesting to learn about the native plants, birds and butterflies on Eleuthrea Island. The woman who greeted us was very helpful and thorough explaining the tour and answering our questions.

The first place I head to after arriving at my son-in-law's house 2-4 times/year on the Banks Road: Ironically, to "bird". Hope I can continue to do this in the future.

Very beautiful and educational for all ages. It is a not miss when you visit Eleuthera. Some highlights are the turtles, bush medicine area, view from the tower, weather station, many walking paths etc etc. All areas are well marked, clean restrooms, nice map as you are on your own, excellent explanation by Leon Levy employee before you begin. Extremely... More

There should be more of these reserves in the Bahamas. Tastefully done, well kept and marked trails, informative signs and also no litter! We arrived early and spent two and a half hours walking around, it could be done quicker but we took our time climbing the tower, enjoying the peace and reading all of the signs. We saw only... Great preserve with plenty to look at. The only thing I might recommend would be to list on signs as to what each plant species was used for (cure hiccups, reduce fever, etc)

Thank you for your review, we appreciate the feedback! We have gone back and forth on how much signage is appropriate for the medicinal beds. However, based on feedback very similar to yours, we now know that visitors want more detailed information. In response to this, we are developing additional interpretation for the Medicinal Beds that will include listing which... More

The Leon Levy Nature Preserve is absolutely beautiful. Our family ranging from 6 years old to 74 years all enjoyed and appreciated the plant life. We had fun hiking the trails, spotting the amazing variety of plants, turtles, butterflies, lizards, and birds. What a treasure this is for visitors to Eleuthera. We enjoyed talking with Shelby White who told us... More

We loved the Preserve. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The site was clean, well laid out, and interesting. The trip to the top of the tower (Earl's Tower?) was well worth the trek as the views were good and it was helpful to be able to look down on the coppice. We would definitely go back.
