I have no idea why this is such a popular thing to do. The pigs are aggressive and gross and when you swim up from your boat, you’re swimming in pig poo. We checked the box, but wish we had passed.

This spot is legendary and worth the accolades--it is so refreshing and inspiring to interact with the seafaring porcine residents, who are excited to see visitors (especially those with carrots and bottles of milk for the piglets!). They really do swim out to your approaching boat and frolic in the shallows...could easily spend hours here playing in the lagoon surrounded by pigs! As it can get crowded with tourists, it's best to propose to your captain a time to go when the traffic may die down--perhaps everyone goes in the morning as the first stop in their tour agenda, so if you save it for the afternoon you may have less people and perhaps better light for photos. Or go first thing in the morning!

What a neat and different experience. To see the pigs swimming and running on the beach was a real treat. We enjoyed it thoroughly and had Triple A Adventures to thank.

It was a fantastic adventure to see the swimming pigs and the other adventures as well but we felt a little rushed and didn’t have enough time with the pigs like we had hoped. We toured several Bahamian islands and along the way we stopped at several different spots such as; Iguana island, Thunder Ball Grotto, a secluded cave then to the pigs and then we had lunch at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club which was included in the package deal. We thought (hoped) that since the pigs were our last stop that we’d have more time with them but we didn’t which was rather disappointing and especially after the hefty price we paid for the package deal. The guides that drove the boat were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful but the only complaint we had was that we all felt a bit rushed through each adventure. We’d definitely do something like this again but only at a lower price/smaller group.

It was cool. But please beware! These pigs are huge and they do bite! I was bit very badly in the posterior. Had to follow up with visit to urgent care and antibiotics. My daughter was traumatized. Very scary. Always pay attention especially if you have food in your hand.

Wonderful experience! When booking, be aware that many trips are cancelled, owing to weather conditions (mainly wind) for boat trips. Our trip was cancelled twice. We then booked independently, and flew in with Flamingo Airlines. They had very old, tiny planes, but did the job and it was only a 25 minute flight (as opposed to 90 - 120 minutes by boat).
The best time to go is in the morning, as it is quieter and a more personal experience. The afternoons bring boat trips and many tourists.
The pigs are friendly and very quick to swim out to the boats for snacks.
This experience really is a must!

This is more hype than amazing. But there is not a whole lot in Staniel Cay so go. Bring food. Get some carrots at the store. Watch out for the larger pigs as they can bite.

If you've never seen pigs before or have kids this could be really exciting but otherwise it was only ok. You can feed the pigs fruits/veggies/bread but be careful because they can get a little excited about the food. We went without a guide and had no issues. The beach itself is gorgeous but I would not go to the exumas just for this but if you're in the area, is a cute stop.

We came to great Exuma largely because of the swimming pigs. We really enjoy snorkeling, and thought we would be able to find reasonable snorkeling on this vacation. We were mistaken.

As for the pigs, they were interesting, but were really more "pigs hanging out on a beach" than they were swimming pigs. Yes, we did see some swim, but for the most part we interacted with the pigs on the beach. Perhaps the reason for that was that our tour arrived in the early afternoon, and the pigs may have been more likely to swim earlier in the day.

Certainly if you are coming to the area, see the swimming pigs. Just don't plan your entire trip around them.

Hard to wrap my head around how two guys (staff)can spend full days on a beach, look at all the garbage and do nothing...! A shame, and that’s not saying it as I would like. Hit No Name Cay in the Abacos, infinitely better.
