My daughter and I visited with a baby and a 3 year old who is a very keen Thomas the tank engine fan. If you go by train keep a tight grip on small children as you get off as there is a terrifying gap...More

We are a family that loves steam trains. Unfortunately, this railway won't rank in our top ten. We caught the ferry across from Barmouth, the fare is £2 per person. We were advised to buy tickets at Fairbourne so that we could gift aid etc....More

Myself and my children loved this railway. It added a great part to the journey to Barmouth when linked with the ferry. It is very friendly and its size means you are truly up close to the sand dunes and tunnel as you go through....More

An enjoyable ride especially for young children. Took my son 20 yrs ago but enjoyed the ride again on my own. Combined it with a short ferry boat ride over from Barmouth.

I understand from other Trip Advisor reviews that the train is dog friendly but the cafe is not, for health and safety reasons. There are two cafes at each end of the line, both have outdoor seating.
