Great place to stay, beautiful location, amazing house and facilities at exceptional prices. I am a "Friend of Spurn" which gets me extra discount on my stay. If I stay just 6 nights in a year I have saved the cost of my membership! The...More

Where else in the UK can you wake up in Spring, look out your window to find a passage of Arctic Terns with an Arctic Skua identifiable to the naked eye, moving south? Then ten minutes later, a flock of four Black Terns? A really...More

We spent the bank holiday weekend at the Observatory. Very nice accommodation, we had a room to ourselves as we were a family of four. Upstairs there were two nice shower rooms to share with the other two rooms. The kitchen is massive and lovely...More

As ever, clean, comfortable, warm & equipped with better showers than my own at home! Lovely wood burner in the lounge & big kitchen. Perfect location for birding & wandering around for hours & hours. What more could you need?

Everyone at Spurn Bird Observatory is welcoming and knowledgeable. Ok I am biased as I live in Kilnsea so am a close neighbour but I think most people would agree!

Would highly recommend SBO for serious birds and those with just a casual interest. The Obs offers good quality low cost hostel style accommodation. The local pub offers food but the Obs has excellent shared kitchen facilities and clean modern toilets.

Hi Angie. The answer to that is no, as the entire peninsula is a wildlife reserve owned and managed by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Hope this helps, Brian Minshull
