on a nice day, a lovely place to take a break on a trip round the island. The attraction is the peace and quiet and natural beauty and watching the surfers. Do avoid late morning, this is when all the cruise ship buses arrive, together with many taxis.

At this time of year can be dangerous to bathe in this area. When we visited the tide was high and rough. I have seen whole families enjoying a dip when the weather is calmer. As I understand it the 'bowls' are part of a reef near to the beach but as water washes in and out you need to... More

Surfing Soup Bowls was an amazing experience! My first time surfing over coral reef was at Soup Bowls, and I didn't hit bottom once! The waves are EPIC with offshore wind and a nice swell (usually from nor'easters that hit the US) , and very, very good with just average trade swell and the predominantly NE/E trade winds blowing. When... More

What an awesome sight as you drive down into Bathsheba! If you are a lover of the sea, surfing or a blooming great natural view you have to visit this place. I sat on the beach whilst other half was surfing and just took endless pics. Local residents are great and gave advice on where best to get in/out etc.... More

This was probably our favorite part of the island for the beauty. The coast here is simply amazing. It was definitely worth the drive to find this and be able to enjoy it. Not much else in this area and the water is a little too rough due to being on the Atlantic side but lots of photo opportunities.

The locals are super cool and were all welcoming. i sat on the shoulder for a bit watching and they urged me into a first few waves. When i was there it was over head on sets and has a great right, but few know about the left. it ends in shallow water on the reef, just kick out ahead... More

What a beautiful beach! We went there knowing it was known for its amazing surfing since my husband is a huge surfer. While the surf was not quite as big as it can be (oh well it happens. Nowhere has perfect surf everyday!) it was still amazing. While my husband would go out surfing I would sit on the beach... More

The east coast of Barbados is certainly uncrowded. When we visited the "Soup Bowl", it was a Sunday afternoon and the beach was almost deserted. This is a special "natural" spot. Photographers will be in their glory. The beach is very peaceful and relaxing. You could spend quite a bit of time here if you choose. There are very large... More

We took a bus/beach tour and this was one of our stops. It's beautiful!!! Excellent spot for some great pictures. There were a few locals (who I'm sure know when tours will be making the rounds) that were there waiting at the lookout spot to sell jewelry and such but they were very friendly.
