It was a long drive to the falls but eventually it turned out to be an average experience. I have been to much better waterfalls before (Dudh Sager near Goa and Kempty Falls in Massouri). I think February is not the right time for best waterfall experience in Kerala. You have to walk on the rocks maintaining your balance to reach near the fall. Water is dirty, we spotted small fishes and scorpion so would not recommend you to enter the water. However, view is good and you can spend some time (15-20 mins) there.

I visited in February (the month when most of the waterfalls are dry)but this waterfall was still alive in this dry season it is on the way to chinnar forest about 60km from munnar . entrance fee is 10rupees and there's amazing one hour trekking there (guided)to the summit of the waterfall( by 100rupees )it is amazing you can see the beginning of the water from the hill with the sunrays reflection on it. (but the trek is not advised there for the people with knee or back problems) even though if you didn't do the trek you can enjoy the waterfall from down it is amazing . also u can enjoy a cup of tea with milk from the nearby stalls

Well worth a trip to see the water fall and the monkeys!! Not for the faint hearted as the pathway is quite tough if you have mobility issues. The monkeys are playful and friendly although we were advised not to touch them or feed them. The falls them selves are fed by a river which you can sit in and swim carefully. The falls can seen from above and below if you walk down the path.

The Lakkam waterfall is located at Marayoor road and about 6 Km from Munnar. The waterfall originates from the Eravikulam Plateau. Though the stream creates lots of cascades, most of them are inaccessible. one can see the last point where it falls. The visit to the water fall provides mesmerising views and a sort of visual treat, nestled amidst Vaga Trees, because of which most tourists visit this place, while in Munnar. This spot is perfect for clicking some awesome pictures with your loved ones.

Just like it names, wonderful water fall, such a majestic look and loads of water, you can and should spend sometime at the place. however you are disturbed by the local vendors and shop keepers and need to be cautious!

I was not intending to visit this place, but as it fell on my way to the Marayoor Forest which is famous for sandalwood trees, I thought just to check in. For one it is a beautiful spot to rest and if needed take a shower to refresh yourself at the natural waterfalls. It is a tourist spot so there is a nominal entrance fees of 15 Rs. You have access to locker and bathroom facilities so for ladies there is no problem if you need to change in order to take a dip in the cold waters. The area where the water falls from the highest point is closed for access as it is dangerous, but then you still can experience the same downstream. The water is as clean and as fresh as it comes from deep within the forests. I would not rate it as a must see or must visit, but if you are on your way and when it falls on the way, do stop for a nice refreshment.

A great waterfall with ample amount of space to float & swim. Changing facilities also available hence not a issue for females.

This was a great experience. Starting from first, i liked the view (water filled with abound stones, big rocks in between, and a waterfall from a distant sight). When i entered in, the water was surprisingly chilled even at afternoon hours. A few steps in and you are comfortable enough to reach all the way to the waterfall. The fall has well-controlled flow, i would say, enough to go beneath it.. Its completely safe not only for adults, but kids too with of course a little extra care. Overall, its worth visiting if you are in Munnar. Its pleasantly soothing. Enjoy..

Is it too crowded during November?(We are a group of 60 students and we are planning to visit it on a Sunday)
Written October 9, 2017
Sorry, saw your question late. This place will be crowded during holidays, weekends.
But your group of 60 should definitely outdo the crowd :)

what is the current status of water availability now. am planning for next week.

I had been there 2 weeks ago and it wasn't probably the best time to visit but yeah there was enough water to get yourself immersed.. the falls was pretty amazing and the water was too cold. The best part was that it rained that day, it rained everyday in our 4 days Kerala trip. So yeah.. it'll definitely be better better now! 😃

What is this place like in the second half of March?
Written February 28, 2017
I suggest that this place be avoided this March or later since the summer is severe in this region and I don;t expect any water to be flowing in the stream at all. The best time would be after the monsoons set in
