Old mosque in the old city. The guide was knowledgeable and also showed our group his library. There are artisans in the area who are happy to sell you their wares

One of Mauritanias best known sights. Although it is in the desert, this is a spot to really be close to mauritanian culture. Around the mosque in the old city you will find plenty of the ancient libraries.
