This column is in the middle of the main Litomerice square so you can't miss it. It was built in 1685 as a thank you for the end of the plague. On the top is Immaculata and down the sides are the four saints, St. Sebastian, St. Roch, St. Bartholomew and St. Francis Xavier and a statue of St Rosalia.

Definitely makes you think about how people survived plagues in the past. It is interesting, but not exceptional pillar.

When I see monuments that represent things like plagues, it makes me think that you never know what can happen. This monument stands at one end of the Peace square. It was built in 1681 after the plague killed 400 villagers in 1680. It is of baroque style. A better description is on the town's website www.litomerice.cz, I thinks it's... More
