Stopped here with my grandmother who grew up on a farm. She and I were very impressed about the amount of farm equipment and pioneer artifacts on display. It was interesting to see the old equipment, and the actual museum is an old pioneer house, so the atmosphere of the museum is perfectly fitting. Personally, I would go to see the museum if you have time to spend there, you have to take time to see everything.

Our day of museum visits. I guess by the other reviews we hit a bad day. The only way to see this was by a guided tour. But the guide was on lunch. It was ten to twelve and it would be another two hours before we could have a tour. No essence of I'm sorry. Not a whiff of interest in visitors by the staff on duty who didn't seem to have anything else to occupy them.

Really can't call it a welcome centre.

There is something for everyone at this museum. There is a small tour which is very informative and provides a good historical perspective of the area including birth records. Admission and souvenirs are reasonably priced. When you're finished, slip over to MUMs bakery to get yourself some seriously decadent and delicious treats.

Interesting for all ages! Kids enjoyed seeing farm and home items from the past. Farmhouse items and large farm machinery, interesting family histories from the locals.

This little tour was very informative and had a few things we had never seen before at a pioneer museum. Souvenirs are reasonably priced, and if you have family from here you just may find them in all of the family trees the have there. Admission is inexpensive as well.
When you're finished, slip over to MUMs bakery to get yourself some seriously delicious treats.

Good family place to visit to continue learning about the Island! This is a place to take your family and, although smaller than some, it makes up for it with more information.

Entering the museum, i was able to enjoy a informational and fun guided tour through the past of the island, guided by their tour guides, of whom answered any questions I had along the way. The original buildings and cabin were amazing too, and the kids left the place full of enthusiasm, ready to make some whirligigs (a toy the pioneer kids had) back at home, and they had a better idea of life back when ! Great place to go on your free time, highly recommended! I will certainly be going back next year!
