The museum introduces, in a very interactive fashion, a unique collection which brings one to the heart of the Huron-Wendat culture, explores themes from the historical territories and recalls native memories and knowledge. The museum offers more than a simple visit; it introduces a bona fide cultural voyage. Apart from all the collections, one can find, in close proximity to a restores brook, outdoor theme gardens where one may discover the beauty and power of the medicinal plants.

The museum contains a vast array of traditional things from the Huron. I only went through it quickly. But, the hotel that it attaches too is designed like a long house of the ancestors. There is also a replicated Long house that you can go inside and see how the people lived long ago. My visit was worthwhile and I... More

A well thought out tour with many reference points to view. Very unexpected on how much knowledge I would gain. Highly recommended for any historian.

This was our third visit to Quebec to visit relatives, but our first trip to the Wendat village. This is not where they once had their camp, it is a re-enactment in the middle of tribal lands. It was very interesting. Don't miss it if you have a chance. Our guide was a lovely young woman, a member of the... More

Took the long tour (2,5 hours) with the museum, longhouse, church, commander's house and falls. It's definitely worth it! We learnt so much about the natives, their way of life, their beliefs, their history, and their contemporary rights within Canada. The tour was guided by a native descendant who was passionate and truly happy to share her knowledge. Could look... More

We took the longer version of the guided tour (the temporary exhibition, museum, longhouse, church and falls) with Dominic(?) as our guide and were very glad we did. He was full of information and was obviously very proud of his heritage, which showed in the energy and enthusiasm he put into talking to us. There were only five on the... More

A must-see! We know so little of First Nations' history. It is being told here in a very warm and inspiring way by natives. The visit of the long house is particularly enlighting.

Since we live on the east coast of the US, it is hard to learn and experience the life of the native americans/first nations of the continent. So while vacationing in Quebec City, it was a great chance to learn about these cultures. We took the extended discovery tour. Well worth the time. At first we viewed the museum, small... More

We visited the wendake site for the first time, if you are near Quebec and have extra days I recommend the short drive to wendake. The museum and site are very nice and very well kept. We had a local guide which provided lots of information. The long house is really worth a visit. There is a luxury hotel with... More

This was a frustrating visit as several people we had talked to had told us this was a must see attraction. On first arrival the building is an impressive form in its own right and the grounds are well kept, clean and the initial impressions were good. The centre doubles as a Spa/restaurant and museum of the Wendake First Nations.... More

Kwe, First, thanks for taking time to give us your comments on your visit at our Museum. The architecture of our museum represents a smoke house. This is the reason that the architect firm did not include windows in the design of the museum. We took the opportunity of darkness bring via giant screens, the nature of some of our... More

Very friendly. Nice modern hotel. Super quiet. La traite restaurant was good, a bit expensive, but suited the whole family.
