It is located in the centre of De Rijp. An old town hall from 1630 is the tourist information centre on the ground floor and also "De Waag" where in earlier years, among other things, livestock and products from agriculture and industry were weighed. It's also a beautiful wedding location. Unfortunately it was not open due to the pandemic.

This old building will catch your attention even if you do not know its importance.

While standing at the other side of the canal, fronting the equally old structure, the church, it urged me to get the picture and made me went near the to this building ask myself why it still stood there until this time and took a special space centrally. I knew later that it's the old CityHall.

The staircases from left and right landing met to the top near the main entrance, was where the officer stood and made announcement to the villagers. or in another occasion, the newlywed will take time to pose for posterity.

Do not miss this spot it is worth a visit. Though it's a bit far from Alkmaar, you will enjoy your time. Besides restaurants are available too.

Such a beautiful location for a wedding. Small wedding location, for a limited number of guests. But totally worth it. On the floor above there is a small opportunity for a cup of coffee with a cake and a glass of congratulations. Everything authentic.
