My husband and I prefer to do some activity in amongst the relaxation of a beach holiday. Our hotel offered a morning half day kayaking trip in Thalane Bay. I googled the area and trip prior to booking and noticed that the tide was an important factor in experiencing the best the area could offer. We then enquired about the... More

We chose the half day option for 400 thb. The instructor was very good, friendly and funny with lots of information along the way. We saw monkeys in the mangroves and went through the canyon, great scenery along the side of the tall cliffs. It was low tide so we couldn't go to far. I am not very athletic and... More

We went as a couple in a two person kayak. It was quite tricky at first getting to grips with how to go straight when the water was a little choppy. However as soon as we got to the canyons it was very calm and we lightly paddled though and the viewst were amazing. It was low tide but still... More

Prompt, friendly, safety conscious, courteous staff. Fabulous scenery!! Long ride to kayak site but worth it! Saw karst islands, with a canyon between, monkeys, monitor lizards, a starfish beach, mangroves, clean water. A few things to know--wear flip flops because you leave them behind while kayaking. Take a snack because you are hungry after and one piece of fruit might... More

The trip was slow to start, 15 minutes break at the 7-11, coffee at the restaurant, as if the guide didn't want to get there too early! the river is nice and calm in the mangrove, and we slowly paddle passing through caves and lagoons, very beautiful....we also visited an amazing cave with prehistoric drawings. very interesting...after lunch we went... It was a very nice experience to make half day trip of kayaking in river Ao Thalane. We booked a full day trip at first combined with ATV, but we needed to re-book in the morning at the very last moment to half day, because of my stomach issues. The lady from the agency was very nice and it was... More

We had a great half day kayaking tour. It started out a little slow, driving around picking up other guests, waiting, etc, before we got in the water. Classical Thai style:). But once the trip got started we had no complaints and plenty of praise. The guides were good English speakers, knowledgeable and friendly. The scenery was absolutely amazing, even... More

The half day was not anything specular. The river you go down is in terrible shape (kind of gross as well). No complaints about our guide, she was great. Biggest thing to watch out for is the meals they serve. I got terrible food poisoning and my partner was also unwell. Made the rest of our travels very unpleasant.

5 of us spent amost 4000 baht to paddle across a muddy river. This was after almost 2 hour drive from Krabi Town that should have been 45 minutes. Tide too low to do ANYTHING. No cave, no wall paintings, no mangrove forests...just a short trip across a muddy river and back. Extremely disappointed and will get money back through... More
