During our brief visit to La Paz as part of a day-long tour from Cabo san Lucas, our Esperanza's Tours La Paz Encounter tour stopped here. We were able to enjoy the sanctuary and take photographs of the interior and exterior. This is a well-kept building. The skylight in the sanctuary is unique. The ceilings are beautifully arranged. The naves... More

Not a grand or imposing cathedral, but it felt very "sincere." There's a bit of interpretive history nearby, and it's on the way to a walk to the local English-language bookstore. Worth a stop, especially for the faithful, to enjoy the religious experience and a sense of the local history and culture.

We went here on a tour. Great history and it seems well cared for. This was built by the Jesuits when they came into Mexico and we were given history of what they did while there.

We have seen many cathedrals in Mexico and this is not the best, nor the worst but it is a beautiful church, both inside and out. In fact, the outside is very simple but there is a simple elegance inside with its yellow domed arches and white trim. There are two plaques commemorating the founding of La Paz, the city... More

It sits at one side of the town square and is very basic and simple but was worth a 5 minute photo opp and peak inside. Nothing like other Cathedrals you may be thinking of or what you see in Europe but nice local culture.

It's not overly fancy, but it is sincere and soulful - very locally spiritual. Worth a few minutes to get there and a quiet, meditative visit.

This cathedral is small and fairly plain compared to other cathedrals I have seen. It is lovely, none the less. The statues and decor in Catholic churches are always interesting to me. The square in front of the church is nice as well. There are benches and it serves as a community gathering place.

Not the most ornate or impressive church in Mexico by far ... but OK for a quick look. There are more interesting things to see in La Paz.
