I've been here many times.. great one stop shop to buy souvenirs and something for yourself. Just please be careful buying jewelry!! I mean buying what looks to be gold! Buyer beware and everywhere there's NO REFUND!! Keep that in mind.. But overall go during the daytime.

Lots to look at but It was too much for me as a tourist for buying. There was food, pottery, candles, and any trinket you could imagine.

This market is pretty much a big bazaar. You find everything from fresh groceries to clothing, souvenirs, medicine etc... If you want to get a taste of the Mexican culture this is a great place to check out and get some good colorful pictures too. Just make sure you don't visit on a busy day since it can get pretty... In the evening I saw a lady with some device making tortilla in the street and I wanted one like that for myself. So, I asked her where she bought it from, and she told me that it came from Mercado de Popo, and gave me directions. The next day i was there, and yes I bought a few things... More

El Popo is an authentic Mexican Market located downtown on Revolucion Ave. where you see the large clock on the sidewalk. The market features fruits, vegetables, religious items, souveniers, and many other items.

Stopped in here real quick...it's a great place to look around and get a feel for the market in Tijuana. Though I didn't purchase anything here, you can certainly find a wide variety of items.

Not a great market area. Walk the streets of Tijuana instead for an amazing mexican experience. This market place simply doesn't provide that experience

Unfortunately in the last two or three years the market has gone down, several shops closed. It has become a shadow of its former self. Still interesting for the newcomer, but if you are brave enough to step outside the city center, proceed to Mercado Hidalgo, only a short ride by colectivo away, and find a more interesting place there.

I kept reading about how this was one of the best markets in Tijuana, huge, full of arts and crafts and great stuff to buy yada yada... I found it to be quite small with not much more on sale than spices, cheese and fruit. Fine for a colourful walk through, but not much in the way of tourist shopping.... More
