Not a great market area. Walk the streets of Tijuana instead for an amazing mexican experience. This market place simply doesn't provide that experience

Unfortunately in the last two or three years the market has gone down, several shops closed. It has become a shadow of its former self. Still interesting for the newcomer, but if you are brave enough to step outside the city center, proceed to Mercado...More

I kept reading about how this was one of the best markets in Tijuana, huge, full of arts and crafts and great stuff to buy yada yada... I found it to be quite small with not much more on sale than spices, cheese and fruit....More

First went here in 2003 and the place was buzzing. Went there recently and everything was so quiet. Shame to see the place go down hill

It's touristy but good touristy. I want with my daughter and we both really enjoyed checking out the shops and talking with shop owners and picking up some stuff to take home.

After reading reviews I was expecting a larger market with more art..... It is a nice traditional market with food, flowers, pots and pans, candy etc. On this rainy wednesday morning 9:30 it was almost empty of customers.

Google it. Easy to get there. Make sure your cell phone internet works there so you can get maps and navigate. I've gotten lost several times in TJ ( it's apart of the adventure) and now I know my way around.

Yes, I believe it is as safe as any market in Mexico. Fruits and vegetables need to be cleaned properly.
