We visited this beach twice because we loved it so much, but on the second visit the waves were stronger. You have to be cautious there are no official lifeguards on this beach except for the volunteer surf rescuers near Mario's surf school.
I had drifted too far out on a swim to be without a board of some kind and Antonio who was with the volunteer surf rescue crew helped me get back to shore because he let me borrow his board. Later that day another person was saved by them.
The nearby hotels and developments want to privatize this beach and kick this awesome community out so I am writing in support of them to stay. They saved my life and countless others!

We’ve been many times and really loved the beach and surfing. Recently an overzealous local wasn’t happy when we renting chairs and an umbrella from a competitor. Upon leaving he threatened us with a machete. Be wary of the first encounter and to be safe bring your own chairs and umbrellas.

The beach itself is fairly nice, the water was quite cold when we were there and the surf a bit wild so I never actually got in to swim which was a huge bummer. I had planned to get some surf lessons but was pretty shocked at the prices. Really that goes for this entire part of Mexico, it just felt like everyone was trying to scam or rip us off, I’ve not felt that way in other parts of the country. The roads to get into the beach area are dusty and rough, higher clearance isn’t necessary but certainly advised. There’s not a whole lot to do here, there are a couple of not very good restaurants and if you’re not surfing…that’s pretty much it. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return to this beach or this area.

Great beach with water you can swim and surf in. We visited during a day trip from Cabo San Lucas to Todos Santos and we are glad we stopped. Got a nice little spot on the beach and spent lots of time in the water. Loved the nice sand

This is an ample beach located about a 10 min car ride outside of Todos Santos. It's always been popular. It's a beach that attracts people that are partial to surfing. Facilities are rustic still, but I noticed a lot of construction (resorts, hotels) going on close by. At this beach, you can relax, sunbathe, swim, wade in the incoming waves, and even get a massage on the beach!

Don’t trust the red shirt beach boys! Drove the whole Baja several times. Brought some friends here for easy access. Rented umbrellas and chairs with no haggling. After surfing beach boy wanted me to pay. I told him in Spanish to give me 15 minutes for a rest and a beer. He took off. I paid his partner before leaving the beach. Later, in Loreto I realized someone punched my driver side door lock out. Nothing for sure, but… been there before. Luckily they didn’t get in!

tried to walk this beach everyday. Quiet and nobody around. In summer a bit more crowded but not to bad. Water is the best for swimming and safe areas. Surf lessons here and board rentals also. Massage ladies on beach to take care of your sore muscles at great prices.nice vibe and friendly crowds.

The same beat music is played all day and night and it resonates thru parking area late in evening. Horrible for rvs/ campers and surfers who necessarily do not want to listen to same music over and over again every day and night. It's enough to drive anyone nuts. It's unfortunate.

Great beach . Watching Surfers, surf lessons and free parking . Carlos and his dog tequila making fresh margaritas on the beach . There is a surf shop there as well as a few small restaurants for a bite to eat.

Northeast corner of the beach is Cerritos Tropical bar and restaurant. Look for the palm trees and shade. The guacamole is fresh and huge portion. Nice ambiance with several tables in sand and in doors. Good variety of Mexican food. Cash only. Cold drinks.

Hi. I am a female traveller planning a solo trip to Cerritos. The plan is to rent a car for a week, or so from the airport and drive. Any safety issues, particularly with driving? Is it fairly deserted? First time to the area, so am unfamiliar. Any info would be appreciated.

Drive during the day fill up when you see a station. Download the map in google maps so it can work offline.
AMC ventura was a good rental car company. Have fun! Great town.

is there any public transportation from Los Cerritos to Todos Santos? Bus?
Written August 28, 2019
I don’t think so. We had a driver take us. There should be taxi’s and it shouldn’t be terribly expensive. We used a local travel agency and we are offering the trip through them....let me know if you would like more information.

I'm planning a day trip next week to Cerritos Beach. Where should I park and what facilities have restrooms? The Beach Club is closed according to the most recent review on TA.
Written August 10, 2019
There is plenty of close free parking on the dirt road to the beach just next to Barracuda Cantina, which has a bathroom for its patrons...had a good meal there!

I heard there is a truck on the beach now selling tacos and drinks...anyone have more info or even a picture...is it where the beach club was as it is now closed?
Thanks

If you are renting a car, go with Cactus. They do a full quote, including the mandatory insurance and make it really easy. We were very impressed. My friend had a terrible time renting a car on another trip to Mexico so we were a little nervous, but Cactus was recommended and we are glad we used them.

I was wondering if there are facilities open to the beach goers (bathrooms and showers), so we could freshen up and go to a local restaurant after a day on the beach... since we're coming from Cabo?

For sure bathroom, not sure about showers. Good food and drinks on beach

what do you consider excessive? im trying to get an idea of pricing in the area

There are several options in the immediate area that could run from $5-$30 dollars for a dinner. Pescadero is 5 minutes up the road also with quite a few varied options and Todso Santos is 10 minutes away with everything from the best!! fish tacos for a $1 to a wonderful gourmet meal for $30. You just have to ask around or be willing to get away from your hotel.
This is not an all inclusive type area, but you will find fantastic and fresh food because of it.
