Since opening our doors in 1994 the challenge was to find only the finest artists in Southern Baja. We have met that challenge with 15 artists represented in our gallery. Whether contemporary or traditional, you will find it at The Galeria de Todos Santos.

Having been in the art business for many years, my visit to the Galeria de Todos Santos in Todos Santos, Baja, California, Mexico, was a most rewarding visit. The trip there was ecnomical, fast and easy, I flew into Cabo San Lucas, rented a car and drove a single road in less than one hour to Todos Santos where many art galleries and scores of local and mainland artists are represented. The Galeria de Todos Santos owned by Pat and Michael Cope is the main attraction as far as galleries go next to the Todos Santos Inn where the accomodations were the best I found in all of Baja Mexico. I arrived on a Friday afternoon, stayed at the Inn, visited the two galleries owned by the Cope's, had a first class dinner at the Sante Fe Restaurant. The next morning I then visited the other many galleries in this small but clean and friendly town, had lunch at the Sante Fe restuarant again, picked up my well wrapped art work I purchased at the Cope's gallery and left the next day, (Sunday) for Cabo and flew back to the States.

We have been going to this gallery over the years and know that they show only high quality fine art. They don't show tourist art like you see in other galleries in town or Cabo. The artist are also very accomplished in their work. If you like fine art and are looking for reasonably price, high quality work go to this gallery. It's worth the very short drive north of town.

We were vacationing in Cabo San Lucas and decided to take a trip to Todos Santos. As it was later in the day, when we arrived we were only able to visit a few artist galleries as they seem to all close at 4:00 pm; and reading reviews some do not open on the weekends. Most shops that remained open were for jewelry and curios.
Although there is one rug shop who's owner is Zapotecan with beautiful rugs - cash only please!
Down the street from his little shop traveling north there is a little coffee shop that sells baguettes and wonderful coffee/lattes/cookies.
The town itself is very sweet and lay back and thoroughly enjoyable.
Of course we took photos of Hotel California which isn't really the Eagles Hotel California but what the heck - rethinking the trip it would've been nice to stay overnight and travel on to La Paz the next day.
I'm posting photos of the inside of the Hotel.
If you have time be sure to visit.

Our driver chose to "educate" us about the Los Cabos area most of the hour ride. Well done and informative. People seemed to like the shopping opportunity at the blanket store on the way. It was not clear where the blankets or rugs were actually made and whether they were hand woven. The tequila tasting stop was also informative and interesting, but the prices of $80 and $120 or more for a bottle were prohibitive for buying. Only an hour was left for shopping in Todos Santos after lunch. Since there were no maps or gallery references for travelers, we didn't know where to go with our limited time. The town is billed as an artsy community but we were unable to explore the art scene to any meaningful degree, even for just an overview to return to at our leisure.

Loved visiting Galeria de Todos Santos. Michael is a great host and the art there is the most varied and interesting of any gallery in Todos Santos. We are in the process of watching two pieces getting finished and buying a third that was hanging in the gallery. If you are looking for art this gallery is a MUST VISIT!

We popped in here and, right away, were attended to very well. In fact, we came away with a modern sculpture of a bull, plus several highly imaginative lithographs. Plus, it has its resident artist. Friendly place, Quality art.

Find your way to the Galeria down a narrow dirt road just outside of Todos Santos. High ceilings and architectural interest compliment this dedicated art space. The gallery represents both Mexican and American artists and their diverse art, and is especially suited for large scale works. It's a dynamic venue for artists to showcase their work, some hanging on the walls and some on easels.
Tip: on Friday and Saturday nights, gallery owner Michael opens Michael's at the Gallery, an al fresco patio that serves Asian fusion cuisine sometimes served by the artists.

We enjoyed the museum, with mock-ups of local houses, local politicians and presidents of Mexico, a lot about Frida Kahlo, woodworking tools, ancient skulls and the story of Dom Ramon Wong. It is in an old school with some interesting modern vfrescos and is clearly a thriving cultural centre for the town.
