First time in Huatulco, stayed in one of the hotels at Tangolunda bay area ... the best decision! Place is privileged, and has so much to offer ... was looking for some quiet day away from the US, and discovered way more than I was looking for ... will return soon!

Beautiful bay. Swim using extreme caution as the currents are strong. The beach is quite steep. Sand is like the texture of demerara sugar.

I am from California, and I am very usted to deal with all kind of algae. But this beach has none of them, only some fish and little crabs joining you swimming. This beach is very safe with no big tidal waves at all.

Excellent area for beaches and resorts like Las Brisas, Quinta, Barcello, Dreams and more. The combination of ocean, sand, mountains, bays is amazing.

To my dismay i realized that the town appeared to be completely abandoned, those who could afford the very expensive all inclusive hotels its great but for those on a budget i recommend dtaying in the center and just getting a 43 peso cab... $2 cab ride and then a short walk thru a park and woods. Not easy access if you have mobility issues. Gorgeous, steep, soft beach - fairly heavy surf and undertow. Use major caution if swimming. No shade. No bathrooms. A couple vendors do sell cold drinks, cocos, local snacks. All-inclusive resorts at both ends but hardly any people in... More
