Went to Las Brisas resort. First off was a bit worried after hearing about stairs etc as we were taking our inlaws who are in there 80's. Is it hilly yes it is to say the least. But that being said they have carts that run non stop to get you to and from rooms if you need it. If you are older and have mobility issues they will bring a smaller golf cart and take you directly to the room or to the beach area if you need it. Resort is a bit older but rooms were very clean and our air conditioner worked like a champ in the 34 degree weather we had all week. We only did one alacarte all week as we found tons of variety of foods at the buffet and never went hungry all week. They gave you smaller water bottles to drink but figured out that after about 5 minutes in the heat if you had a bigger one it would be warm to the touch already. Took my yeti had ice in it and poured the water in it to keep it cool. Found the beer at the bars was pleasantly good. I drank amber or what they called it negra beer all week had a nice taste and in my opinion was good. They gave you light beers in your beer fridge which were also good. If you left things in your fridge they didnt restock very well so we would remove our drinks if there were any so it would get fully restocked. We did not have a balcony which was a negative as I like to sit on the balcony and have a drink. But views form the rooms we all had were lovely. The beach area was nice but if you wanted front row tiki huts you had to get there early to reserve them with towels. We usually went around 5:30- 5:45 and stayed there and watched the sun come up was very peaceful and quite nice. So for us this wasnt an issue others may not like it so much. We did have bar service on the beach and she was a warrior with how many beverages she could carry and remember . Was very impressed with her. Snorkeling right off the beach was good and plenty of fish to see. There was a lot of puffer fish and small puffers which were pretty fun to watch. Saw different things everytime we went out. We bought pool noodles in the store to use at the beach as the water was warm and great to just float around in and very safe. We did not see much entertainment as we usually ate dinner had a few drinks then relaxed in the room. Overall had a great time and would recommend this resort. The golf carts got to be fun after a while as some guys thought they were in the indy 500 driving them.

We stayed at a small hotel near the beach. The beach is lovely but access greatly curtailed by all inclusive resorts. The best access is by the campground. There are very few restaurants in the area and only a few worth a repeat visit.

This review and rating are specifically for Playa Tangolunda located in Tangolunda Bay. I walked to Playa Tangolunda from the main road, the beach is really nice and clean. There were no rocks where I was swimming and not many people in the ocean, most people were just relaxing on loungers at their resort. I did get the boot when I tried to store my small backpack on one of the neighbouring loungers, security didn’t like it much. Regardless, Playa Tangolunda is a really nice beach!

One of the most relaxing locations in Bahias de Huatulco is on the beach at the Camino Real Hotel in Bahia Tangolunda.

We were staying at a resort on Tangolunda bay. We swam and body surfed every day. It is a moderate surf at times. You just have to be careful getting in and out. Water was so warm!

Terrific beach bay - easy to walk along both beaches (connected through some rocks). Swim out at any spot.

I have seen 3 bays in Huatulco, and Tangolunda was my favorite. Quite big, the water very clean and not turbulent (at least in the period we went), the rocks very picturesque. My favorite part were the blue fish gang that swam very close to the shore, you can feed them but expect some close-up experience including biting 😀. Lots of birds, and other marine life. Not many people in the water , which was surprising, but then again it wasn't high season.
We absolutely loved Tangolunda!

We went to Huatulco recently. We flew in from Oaxaca City via Aero Tucan. (35 minute flight VS a 6 hour drive, btw). We have been to Oaxaca city a few times. We like it there!

We stayed at the Quinta Real.
August is the off season and now I know why. Sooooo hot, and humid. My hair looked like a Chia Pet.
The room we had was gorgeous. Clean, big, and a view to faint over. And the bed looks out on this view. Small terrace with hammock. Great big bathroom. Air conditioner works really well. :)

The service there is very good. Helpful and friendly. We ate breakfasts there (8 on a scale of 1-10), and we ate dinner there one night. (7 on a scale of 1-10).

The pool is nice for a dip - and a fab view. The beach is pretty nice, with several lounges with shade. And they do have service there during the day.

We took a private snorkeling tour for about 3.5 hours, at the suggestion of the concierge (Juan, a lovely guy). A bit pricy (about $175 USD). So we hit a couple of the better snorkeling sites. Water was unbelievably warm, and the clarity was pretty good. Super enjoyable - -and a lot cooler out in the water. There are many other beaches to snorkel around that we didn't get to -

Went into town for dinner two nights. There's a decent selection - very casual. We didn't do any street trucks.

All 'n all I'm glad we went to check it out - but don't think I'd go back. Not quite enough for us to do - we are not the type to lay about the beach for too long. We like to be more active.

This bay is fantastic, but the tide is very high, and it is hard to swim. Nevertheless, a great view and sound.
