I have visited the store over the years various times. Carolina is very attentive and gives you a lot of insight in stones, chakras and silver and also other Mexican traditional jewelry and its history. It is a pleasure to listen and look around to find gifts for yourself or loved ones at home. You feel at home in her self built store, and one can also engage in one of her workshops. I truly recommend a visit to see for yourself.

A visit to Maica is a must do when visiting Huatulco. Carolina Swartz, the owner, is a very talented jewelry designer and empath and her shop is a gem in itself. Her healing stones, her beautiful silver designs -- you will not be disappointed! We are excited to try her Argentinian empanadas soon.

Happened to be shown this little gem of a store by some local friends. Owner & creator, Carolina is a wonderful person & artist. Her shop is full of unique pieces that are not only beautiful, one of a kind, but also affordable! She also has beautiful select pieces of clothing to mull over.

You must, must, must visit Maica Silver. There are so many different jewerly items hand made by the beautiful owner Carolina, as well as shirts, purses, shot glasses, cups, stuffed handmade animals, etc. You will not leave the store without making a purchase!!!! Carolina's specially is in healing/natural stones necklaces and bracelets. She is very informative about the different stones and their healing natures. She is a very warm hearted peson who you will feel you have known for a lifetime, even upon meeting her for the first time. They have just expanded their store, so there are so many more items that ever before !!!!! this gem is a must visit when in Huatulco.

I found this little shop on the last day of my stay in Crucecita. I ended up buying a number of jewelry times and other unique hand made souvenirs for gifts.

The shop is just a few steps off the beaten path but so well worth it as it is the nicest shop in town. If you are standing in the central park and are facing the church, you go to your left and then take a right down the first street you come to. It is about half a block down on the left hand side of the street. The hours are 10-12 and 6-10.

When I entered the shop I was warmly greeted by the owner, Carolina. She is such a lovely vibrant and helpful person, you can't help but be drawn to her. She makes many of the jewelry items, which are tasteful, unique, and fantastically priced. As mentioned a cute stone necklace (many varieties such as Jade, Jasper, etc) is only $10.00. She also has well made indigenous handicrafts, along with other unique items. I think I made all but two of my trip purchases in her shop, and certainly could have made many more. I cannot recommend this shop enough!

This little boutique off the beaten path is well-worth finding. Here you’ll find unique masterpieces of jewellery that are beautifully hand-crafted by local resident, Carolina. I found it difficult to limit my choices because I loved everything I saw in this store. I also enjoyed meeting the cheerful artist who obviously loves her craft. Carolina, who speaks fluent English, is happy to answer questions about her collections and the materials she uses to make her pieces. In fact, meeting this wonderful lady and purchasing her jewellery was one of the highlights of my trip. So if you want quality hand-crafted jewellery that not only stands out, but is reasonably priced and made by a lady with heart, then Maica is definitely the store for you. I'll definitely be back!

This funky, laid back, California-style boutique in located a couple of blocks away from the church in La Crucecita and Carolina, the owner and operator, received us with opened arms, in her quaint studio/home.

If you are looking for special gifts to bring back, Maica offers an array of beautiful, hand-made jewellery, that is very reasonably priced. It is opened from 10:00 - 1: 00 p.m. and again from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Cash only. You can buy jewellery from the website, but at this time, only necklaces with healing stones are available. To see all the interesting pieces Carolina has available, you really need to go in person.

We also found out that her Canadian husband offers excursions. It was too late for us, but if you are just starting to explore Huatulco, maybe make this one of your first stops to hear about some of the trips that are available.

We came upon this store that is off the beaten path. As Huatulco is extremely safe it allows you to explore the stores that are not in the main square. We are so glad we found this store. Carolina, the owner, sells beautiful hand made jewelry as well as other Mexican artifacts from all over. She was very easy to talk to and has great stories about her finding some of these artifacts for her store. Carolina sells many different items which are not available in the typical shops in the area. Beautiful stones, healing necklaces and bracelets, hand made jewelry, canvas pictures of shots taken in the area are just a few great finds.

This shop is a must see for your souvenir shopping.

I recently spent two weeks in Huatulco and prior to arriving I found some info on a lady that makes jewelry using black pottery beads, healing crystals and many other types of beads and shells in many different designs. When arriving I met up with some friends that live there for 6 months of the year and they were extremely helpful in tracking down where the shop was as I really wanted to purchase some of the jewelry. The shop I am speaking about is Maica Jewelry Design by Carolina Schwarz.

I will try my best to explain where her shop is, if you are standing on the bottom of the steps of the church (in the town of La Crucecita) looking out to the square you will go to the right of the church for about two blocks – the street name is Chacah – from there you will take another right and go down approximately a block and a half and it’s on the left hand side of the street. The shop has big brown doors and a metal gate. If the door is closed you can knock and say hola as sometimes Carolina is in her workshop making jewelry.

I can’t say enough good things about Carolina and her jewelry. You will find something for all tastes in her shop, whether you like healing crystals jewelry or something a little splashier such as a shell pendant encased in silver (all handmade using the best silver that area has to offer) or maybe something more traditional like a beaded necklace using handmade (by the native people) black pottery beads all strung on hemp cord. She sells many types of bracelets, earrings, necklaces and pendants as well as a few other unique items. I bought a pair of coconut earrings for my friend which are very different and she loves them! Gosh I wish I could remember all of the items in her store as I was there twice during my time in Huatulco and I can’t wait to go back when I return. Not only does Carolina make beautiful jewelry at very reasonable prices but she’s one of the warmest, most inviting and helpful people I have ever encountered – you always walk away from her store feeling happy and blessed!

Maica Jewelry Design by Carolina Schwarz is a must visit when in Huatulco (La Crucecita), you will not be disappointed and you will be sure to find gifts for your friends and family….not to mention a few…more many for yourself!

There are so many beautiful and unique gift items, you'll have a hard time deciding what to buy....the choices are many, each one a treasure. I did most of my Christmas shopping here. This is a darling place you will not want to miss. Open 10:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m and 6:00 p.m - 9:30 p.m.M-F...Carolina has beautifully unique jewelry, lovingly hand crafted, all one of a kind, and reasonably priced. I especially love her Chackra stone necklaces and matching bracelets. Last year I bought one necklace for myself, love wearing it and got so many compliments on it. This year I was determined to buy a few more for myself all my girlfriends and four sisters @ ( $130 pesos) SUCCESS! Just got back from her shop... I was so pleased to see her selection, and the variety of cool, unique treasures.... from loads of jewelry, a few gorgeous pieces of clothing, and metal ornaments!
Enjoy something special.
