The centre of Manzanillo is moderately interesting but nasty to get to. We had a car for the week and were able to visit several small towns up and down the coast in the same time it took to fight traffic and inch our way by the docks and through construction to El Certro which is basically just souvenier shops... worth a visit to see the giant statue. Lots of shops around the square. Try the coconut ice cream at the shop across the street!!

Enjoyed a great day in Centro. Did much shopping. Loved the Colonial Hotel. It is very old and great original features. Must do if in Manzanillo.

We always like to visit the historic center of the cities we visit. We took the local bus (#1) for 7 pecos. We were able to see the large port on the way. The huge blue sailfish sculpture is at the center of town and a good meeting point. Very few stores cater to tourists and we found it enjoyable... More

El Centro was worth the trip off the resort. The statues were amazing, the navy ships in the harbour were quite the sight - the kids loved them. There are so many shops to explore & restaurants to choose from give yourself plenty of time, You cannot cover it in a couple of hours - leave plenty of time. Also... More

We took the #1 bus to El Centro. 7 peso's/person/trip. On arrival we visited the maritime monument and photographed the giant blue Marlin statue. We wandered through the various streets behind the fancier front row shops. Lots of shopping abounds for everyone's tastes. We later found a little pizza shop (D'Gusta) and enjoyed a very tasty large Hawaiian pizza for... More

We had a great time in El Centro @ Manzanillo. A great market, the harbour and the Iguana Refuge are all great places to visit.

There is alot of little shops here, have just about anything you need or don't but have to own anyway. Relaxing atmosphere, no sales people in your face trying to convince you to shop in their store. No timeshare sales people wasting your expensive valuable time. Good for you residents of Manzanillo, I hope you never change. Everyone was friendly,... More

Old Mexican seaport. This is no border town, the people don't speak much English, many not at all. El Centro is bustling with families and shoppers making their trek to the fresh market with all sorts of fresh local veggies and fresh meats. It is fascinating just watching the vendors custom butcher up a chicken to order, of fillet a... More
