Take a Pulmonia from the pier to the Gold Zone. About 100 pesos, each way. All the resorts allow you to use their pools, jacuszzis, and beaches are for everyone. Beware, there are hundreds of beach vendors. I would suggest hanging out at the pool, going to the beach, which is literally a few steps down from the resort. Vendors are not allowed in the resort property.
