The museum is totally free and there is plenty to see and taste. Also, the third floor balcony offers an great ocean view. My kids did the mini chocolate workshop. It lasted 45 minutes and the cost was 390 pesos per child. The young man who conducted it was friendly, personable and great with kids even older ones like mine. For Mexico, 390 pesos is not cheap for a 45-minute class, but keep in mind that each child rolls out with 100 grams of quality chocolate that they made. How cool is that? You’ll need to stick around for 10-15 minutes for your chocolate to be ready, but the entire experience was worth every peso.

We stopped by this museum for the self tour and when we entered we were asked if we want to have a chocolate tasting. This is a 3 story building and the store (and tastings) are on the first floor. The self guided museum is on the second floor and they hold workshops there, we didn't go up to the 3rd floor so not sure what is up there! When we were reading the information at the museum there was a couple who had done a chocolate workshop. They were having a great time and it looked really fun! I am so bummed we didn't reserve a time for a workshop! After the workshop was over the instructor offered us some extra left over chocolate which was excellent! She then offered to give us a tasting downstairs. WOW! They offer a lot of different items to sample one better than the next! They start with white chocolate which actually has cacao butter and tasted great! They then go from milk chocolate to varying percentage of cacao dark chocolate. There were candy nibs, chocolate covered orange peel, and even a lovely liqueur to finish the sampling! I highly recommend stopping by and do the workshop! It is some of the BEST CHOCOLATE I have ever had! It's a must see and do!

Such a fun activity for all of us. Went with my wife and daughter and we were joined by 4 sisters, making our 7 a perfect group size. The leader, Fernanda, was knowledgeable and friendly and after giving us a lesson on the history and process of making chocolate, we did indeed go from."bean to bar". First we roasted the cocoa beans, then shelled them, ground them into paste (a contest which I won!) and then made personalized sheets of chocolate and 3 chocolate drinks. Great fun was had by all and it was a perfect activity for the whole family.

In addition to the demonstrations, this little store also sells all things chocolate. Everything is made in small batches and is absolutely delicious. There are also soaps ,scrubs and lotions ,all made from chocolate. Great little store to pick up high quality gifts for yourself and everyone else too.

The Chocolate Truffles workshop was very informative, hands-on and fun. Our presenter Fernanda was amazing- she was lively, information, spoke clearly in English and made it worth every minute. Every step of the process she explained and allowed us to experience by doing.

My daughter and I have done the Total Chocolate Experience 4 times over the past several years and have always enjoyed the experience. We really enjoyed how Elizabeth presented the information in a fun and memorable way. Loved sampling the drinks and chocolate and being able to take our creations home with us. The only recommendation we would make is that we would prefer to choose and put on our own toppings for the truffles rather than have it a group effort. Otherwise the experience would have been rated excellent.

I did the mini workshop. Very fun to do. The museum tour was informational and hands on. I still had touring around so they let me keep my chocolate in their refrigerator so it wouldn’t melt. Very friendly and will return one day for a longer class.

Came in to inquire about a workshop. The two guys working never greeted me. So I asked about info he sent me upstairs to the little museum. No one was up there so I looked around then went back down was gonna buy some chocolate bars but he was busy giving samples to people and I didn't want to wait more since I waited about 30 minutes so I just left disappointed left a lot to be desired

I am so sorry you didn't have a great experience. We usually always offer chocolate samples and information to anyone who enters. However, sometimes we may miss the fact that somebody just came in or we may be working on setting up a workshop on the 3rd floor or there can be a misunderstanding due to language issues.
Anyway, this is no excuse, we apologize for the inconvenience. We will work on improving our customer service. We hope that you have a great stay in Puerto Vallarta.

We had a great time at the truffle workshop. Jorge was our teacher. We learned about the history of chocolate first. Then made truffles and ganache filled chocolates using molds.
The chocolate was excellent! The experience was fun and worth the price. We paid $40 US for a two hour workshop.
Definitely a must go.

Our 2nd time here. This time we did the Total Chocolate Experience workshop. We learned a lot from our instructors and left with a week’s worth of chocolates and truffles that we made ourselves. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this experience!
