This is definitely worth visiting. It's a boat ride through a mangrove forest with lots of birds and crocs to see. The guide was excellent and told us much about the mangrove forest and the surrounding area. There's also a viewpoint part way. Afterwards, we even got to hold 1 year old crocs. It was really fun. It's not too... More

Took a relaxing boat trip through the mangroves. We were the only tourist on the trip. Saw many baby crocs, birds, crabs & boa constrictor. Went to the lookout tower, fantastic views over PV & countryside. The boat was able to travel under the bridge to the sea. Here we saw fully grown crocs, birds and iguanas. After the boat... More

We went mid morning. it cost 300 pesos each. be sure to wear bug spray. It was well worth it.It is not a touristic walt disney like place but rather a quiet, sancturary for flora and fauna. we saw several things; crabs, birds, crocodiles )small) sleeping on a branch. Our guide was very knowlegable. Showed us the 3 types of... More

Not at all what we expected. No crocodiles and a very short ride in the mangroves. Guide was not good and the few water birds we saw were nothing new. At 300 pesos it was way overpriced. Less than 1 1/2 hours long. I Cannot recommend.

I went on this trip with my family. We had hoped to see crocodiles in their natural habitat, so I rang up before going and asked, on which trip (there are 4 each day at 9, 11, 1 and 3) would we be the most likely to see crocodiles, and we were told there was no guarantee to see any... More

This is a must see while in Vallarta - whether you live in here full time or are a tourist. The estuary - estero - is right in the middle of bustling Puerto Vallarta, and you won't believe all that lives there until you see it with your own eyes. The tour is very informative, and the cost is very... More

A few times per week tours by boat are offered in this protected nature area. You will see some young crocodiles, various birds, different trees etc.. Also there is a tower for a view over the area. The guides are well trained and explain a lot during that tour. Easy to reach, it is close to the cruise terminal and... More

El Salado is a wonderful wildlife refuge located in the middle of downtown Puerto Vallarta. It is fortunate that this estuary has been saved from further development and that it has remained quite pristine. Venture through the mangroves on a small motor boat and experience what Puerto Vallarta must have been like a hundred years ago. You will see dozens... More

Just North of Marina Walmart is 600 acres (49 Ha) of primeval tidal mangrove forest. We walked on a boardwalk to a small pier and hopped on a very comfortable motor boat ( a panga) and putted down a stream cut into the solid mass of mangroves. This time of year there were few birds (maybe 5 kinds of heron,... More
