For 2 weeks, I had been looking for a shop that sold clay figures, and happened by this gallery on my last day in Puerto Vallarta. All other shops I visited had only pottery and vases. There is a great collection of diablo figures, and I was very happy to purchase a 16 inch one, created by Serapio Medrano. Note:... More

I have been going to Olinala Galeria for over 10 years...I think Brewster has a wonderful eye...I feel you can be assured that you are buying something of real value there. I love his collection of masks, they are some of the best and most unusual I have seen anywhere. It is my favorite gallery in PV.

Christian and native traditions coalesce to produce masks depicting tigers and bulls, saints and devils, patrons and hermits, Pharisees and Moors. Galeria Olinala specializes in these vintage dance masks from villages around Mexico. Most... More

We happened on Olinala during a casual ramble through PV. Having traveled extensively through many of the Mexican states over 30 years, we have seen our full share of Mexican folk art, good and bad. This place caught my eye immediately, as the masks and other objects were striking for their uniqueness, authenticity and quality. You will notice immediately how... More
