Playa Las Gatas is a true Mexican experience. Your can only get there by walking a rocky path or taking the water taxi from town. The snorkleing is wonderful

Snorkeling is not awesome so don't pay for a tour. We just rented a boogie board, had our own snorkeling gear and the lady pointed out to where the statue was. easy to spot, as tons of tours in that area, has a 2 rope attached to buoy and you can pull yourself down to look at it but many... More

You should be a good swimmer as this is rather a long swim from the beach or pier. The clear water makes it visable and it is a very nice photo op.

The Jesus statue beneath the water is excellent snorkeling. Little fish surround you and once out of the water a cool beer is literally steps away.

This was fun but water is cloudy so hard to see. Statue is BIG! It was very easy to get to and only about three feet down.

Fantastic awesome experience 100 pesos well spent . Rocks a real hazard beware. When can I go back? Rent equipment and guide from first stall after getting off water taxi. Which is an experience in its self. No need to take hotel excursion. Safe and lots of fun.

This seems to be nothing more than a concrete statue that was intentionally sunk for tourists and has no color to it or anything else I would say is special.

I was there during Mexicsn vacation time and everything was very busy! You can pay the beach hucksters 50 pesos to take you out-they load a bunch of people together hanging on to a surf board and swim them out together. Attended Las Gatas beach and had to swim out to see Jesus. This is normally a free visit, but do to the Easter Holiday, some enterprising Mexicans decided to charge 100 pesos per person with snorkel gear and life jackets included. Statue has a rope attached so once on location, you can pull yourself down the 8 feet or so... More

This was a lot of fun to visit. There is a rope to help you get down if you're uncomfortable diving down. I wouldn't go on a snorkeling trip just to see this, but it was a cool addition to our snorkeling trip.
