Extremely interesting; visited briefly during Sunday service. Fascinating statues of saints holding their own severed heads. Had a great experience at the nearby market (on Sundays only). We had an excellent driver who also took us to Tlacochahuaya church, Hierve el Agua and Mitla on that day.

This church is a treasure-found. Remarkable in its details and size for a smaller city. The nearby Mercado is the cleanest we have ever seen.

Less heralded than the gilded splendor of its counterpart, the Basilica of Santo Domingo in Oaxaca City, the Church of Our Lord of Tlacolula is no less impressive for its folk-influenced decoration.
