We got tickets for a special Sunday afternoon concert of the Jalisco Philharmonic - which also featured a double program with a concert of a specially written composition played by a guest pianist. The concerts (both with the full Philharmonic musicians) were wonderful and the highlight of our trip. To hear such beautiful music from such an accomplished Philharmonic orchestra... More

The outside structure was incredible! In addition to the view you see with the pillars (the front), there was also an amazing back with water fountains. There is also a pizza restaurant to the right literally connected to the Teatro Degollado (and the pizza and beer were great!... both quality and proximity to people watch). Note: I only gave it... Brad and I were here today and as I was peeking in the window a man waved to me to wait a minute. Another minute later and we were inside! What a gorgeous teatro! I would love to come here for a play or maybe a concert.

Beautiful building from the XIX century, the interior of the theatre is amazing. Surroundings have a lot of historical buildings including the city's cathedral. Must see!!

By far I love quality music. This is the best place to hear a good symphony. The first time that I visit was when the Japanese Keiko Matsui came to play. Just Magnificent. It was great the standup of Sofia Niño de Rivera also.

Great by its history, great concerts specially over the weekends. Located in a crowned place in just the city center, is a beatiful place full of historical areas. Near the place are a couple of old historical churches. A must visit place for tourist. Great Iluminatio at Night

The theatre is a nice place to stop when you see the cathedral and plaza. The outside has lovely carvings and the inside is incredibly ornate.

I watched the Mariachi festival performances twice in this theatre. I was taken by the sheer drop of the upper levels. A typical old style European theatre reminiscent of the last scenes in Godfather 3, where the old guy got poisoned and the Godfathers daughter got shot. The bad news is that she was shot two hours too late as... More
