We did not find this place to be of interest, and the murals are boring and colorless. There is so much fascinating art in Talquepeque and Tonala - better spend time there

Get away from the hustle and bustle on the busy streets of the historic district by relaxing with a book, and admire the architecture decorated with grand murals.

This is a beautiful museum. Above the bookshelves is an interesting mural which covers the length of the library. The carved doors behind the entrance desk depict aspects of Mexican history. The architecture of this building which dates back hundreds of years is also interesting. Definitely worth a short visit.

My eyes get so much pleasure visiting this beautiful library. Is just in the heart of the city. Theres thousands of books free-to read. Just delightful.

This building was the original headquarter for the Universidad de Guadalajara, back in the 1700's and today is one of its public libraries. The architecture is period-correct, and the attention to details and up-keep is great. A very nice place to spend some quiet hours, reading or just exploring the building.

The visit doesn't really take long. It's somewhat small, so you're in and out fairly quickly but it's worth checking out.

Libraries are truly a work of art in itself and this particular library is nothing less. Located in the historical downtown with noise of the hustling, upon entering the noise of the outside does not follow. The space is beautiful, dimly lit showcasing paintings on the wall that are discreet yet enchanting.

We walked into this classic, quiet haven for books and admired the architecture and book collection. Before we walked in, we thought it was a theatre. Very formal and beautiful space for some respite from the busy action of the city.

Each country has a section. The vibe is classical library. Reverence for words permeates everything. And it feels like a sanctuary, which it is in a way. The fascinating paintings above the walls of bookcases reflect the style of the time of Diego Rivera. If you love books and libraries, visit this one.
