The Plaza de Armas is right next to the Catedral. This is the place where the Spanish fought the indigenous. There is a wrought iron gazebo. There is greenery and park benches but not a lot of shade. Lots of pigeons!

Plaza de Armas is THE CENTER of activity for Guadalajara. I loved it after dark. The lights, colors, and enormous, imposing cathedral are shock and awe in all directions. Bring your low-light camera. Watch the people.
