This is a huge Basilica of historical significance. There is a large park around the Basilica and of course many vendors and restaurants. It is a little out of the way due to the construction of the mass transit system, due to be completed in late 2018. Be sure to visit the Huichol Art Museo in the same building -... More

Zapopan takes pride in their Basilica and the fact that Pope John-Paul celebrated mass there rather than in the bigger basilica in the city centre. It is run by the Franciscans and is large, suitably imposing, and the gardens are somewhere for families to stroll in the evenings, as is the custom. The Huitchol Museum, loudly and proudly touted in... More

A very beautiful church in centro de Zapopan. This is one of the oldest churches in the country as I have heard and definitely the oldest and one of the most important church in the city of Guadalajara. The church is very big and beautiful and definitely a great visit. Getting there could take some time but definitely a highly... More

Came here for the first time, not as impressive as the Expiatory but it has its charm, the town square where it is located is charming.

This is the real centre of the Catholic Faith in Guadalajara, a place that the Catedral priests are always looking for.

This was impressionable to look at both inside and out. Such beautiful architecture in it's grandeur. I would recommend viewing it just before sunset then staying there when it's lit up in the evening. Truly a gorgeous site.

Very nice and old building, from the XVIII century, with a sumptuous interior, and surrounded by a well conserved square and historical buildings. Worth the visit!!

When I booked my trip to Guadalajara one of the must see places was the beautiful Zapopan Basilica. I took a taxi from downtown Guadalajara to the basilica and it was 100 pesos. I got there just in time to attend morning mass. Inside it is beautiful so I took several photos without the flash. Also, there are many vendors... More

The place is beautiful and full of history. The street vendors outside offer a bevy of local cuisine and treats. Very nice for a good evening.
