It looks so huge from the outside and different from each direction. Good for taking pictures but difficult to capture the entire cathedral in a single shot. Inside, the cathedral looks pretty much like a normal cathedral. One interesting thing to look out for would be the preserved saint inside.

I've been to various famous churches and cathedrals across the world and this one is very similar to most of them but then it has its own charm and looks great. Worth a visit.

An absolutely beautiful Cathedral, even the side altars were built with such attention to detail. We sat at the back of the church for quite a while just admiring the architecture. Lots of street vendors selling food and juices surround the Cathedral and there are also many other amazing historical buildings in the area. Highly recommend taking one of the... More

I have not been back to Guadalajara since 2007. I just wanted to finish the review off as I remember it like it was yesterday! I lived in Gdl 1999-2000: my year abroad from University in the UK and I got to teach at the ENS de Jalisco for the year - it was truly the life-changing year of my... More

The Guadalajara Cathedral is one of those local landmarks one should see when visiting the downtown area. It's a lovely cathedral, not the most beautiful one in the world, but still worth a short visit.

We booked a City Tour and our guide took us all over this beautiful city. We witnessed the 2 bell ringers (and took a movie) just before 12 Mass on Sunday, where the Cardinal was attending. Great to see actual bell ringers and not the "recorded variety". We came back on our own later in the week to visit the... More

The Guadalajara Cathedral (with a minor basilica in the back) is located in Historic Downtown Guadalajara, and it was built on 1541 with neo-gothic bell towers. The Cathedral has relics (incorruptibles) of Saint Innocent as well as the remains of three cardinals and several other former bishops of the diocese,
