It's not so much Diego Rivera lived here much as its where he was raised as a young child. Has a concise and well curated collection. You can easily do this Museum after the University of Guanajuato and or before. It's also near the Alhondiga de Granaditas. Enjoy!

It's very nice and we'll kept. Incredible that in this cozy little house Diego Rivera the husband of Frida Kahlo was born. Has in the uppers levels nice pieces of art of the artist.

I'm a big fan of Diego and Frida but there's plenty here for even the casual art lover. Not only is this a beautiful example of a colonial mexican home it's one of the best collection of Diego Rivera's work's I've seen in one place. This collection really highlights DR's versatility as an artist and follows his attempt to master... More

A fairly sizable collection of his paintings covering various periods of his artistic life. There was also a temporary exhibit of art on leaves of the Maguey Plant that I personally found more unique and interesting. No fotos allowed above the first floor!

Really enjoyed walking through his Diego's childhood home which boasts so many of his works and a few rooms of furnishings from the era as well. There is quite a variety of his styles included in the collection and of course, photos of him and Freda Kahlo. Certainly worth seeing if you are in Guanajuato. Price is right (20 pesos).

Just seeing all his work displayed here is worth the 20 pesos by itself. I can't believe how many pieces they have.

Wonderful Rivera pieces from different periods of his life and in genres generally less typical of his work, such as landscapes and portraits, plus portraits of him and Frieda Kahlo by friends. Also some superb exhibits of current art, including brilliant and disturbing surrealist oil paintings depicting the alienation of modern life.

A womanizer, a communist sympathizer, and a masterful painter . . . all traits that D. Rivera managed to embody is his paintings throughout his life. The museum that houses some of D.R.s paintings here is a room-after-room arrangement of a two story affair with a good sampling of his works. I think my favorites of his paintings contain snipits... I did not know the gran master was from Guanajuato. It displays various stages of Diego's paintings (such as impressionism, sketch by ink or pencil, copy of mural painting of important Mexican history figures etc) along with the furnitures during his birth period ( but not necessarily from his own house). 5 pesos with the student ID.
