Our guidebook recommended the walk along Avenida Francisco Rosa from Coyoacan to San Angel. Don't do it! It's a long walk. Both Coyoacan and San Angel are worth a visit but take a cheap taxi ride in between.

I walked the entire length of the street on my own after visiting the Frida Kahlo Museum. The architecture is colorful, manicured + charming. Beautiful painted address tiles and signage. Fruit carts on the street to eat as you walk. Nice cafes and park. This...More

We walked from the Mercado Sabado in San Angel along Francisco Sosa all the way to Coyoacan. My favorite day in Mexico City!

Francisco Sosa avenue is a pretty street lined with single or double storey colonial homes that recall the times when the district was a city. Some of the buildings are quite historic and go back to the 17th century. The street is narrow and lined...More

All Coyoacan area is awesome and architecture is great. The central plaza is within a walking distance. Colonial style is preserved in all the area with ancient houses, all well preserved.

A great way to discover Coyoacan is to take this avenue West to East and then sit at a cafe on the main plaza. This is one of the oldest colonial street in Latin America, don't miss it if you go to San Angel or...More

I happened upon this street by chance in my efforts to find the Casa Azul. It is a beautiful, quiet street. The houses have colorful, old-time designs. Taking this street will lead you to the beautiful Colonia Coyoacan. It has a wonderful, small-town feel to...More

Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”)
you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will
transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the
brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers
such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo
seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you
can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood
reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes
