As a believer the whole shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe is worth a visit. The mysticism of the New Basilica, a very modern temple enters through us brings peace. The whole remaining set of churches and chapels is also noteworthy.

I recommend this place for many reasons, it is part of Mexicans live, very peaceful place, clean and beautiful gardens, for religious people it is the right place but every body will enjoy.

Even if you are not catholic you feel the energy. The devotion of the people is impressive, their faith is huge. Ask for Gabriela Treviño for a complete guide, you won’t regret it,!

Built in 1531, it began to sink into the soil soon upon completion. Interior is a wonderful example of 16th century cathedral design from Spain. The new basilica next door (built 1974) is nothing like the original but does serve its purpose. Take your time...More

My father loved this stop as he is very interested in the story of Juan Diego. The rest of us were slightly less interested, though we admittedly enjoyed the walk around the buildings that make up this area. There is a collection of curio shops...More

You can go to the Shrine by yourself anytime, just be careful with your belongings, avoid jewelry and so on, there are lots of people around. I would not stay in any hotel close by, choose your hotel and go to the... More

I don't know for sure. but I would guess there is some access given the fact that lots of people visit the temple for healing purpose.
