Do everything in your power to be here in the spring- late March, April- to see the jacaranda trees in bloom. Let them rain down on you like purple snow!

I walked through Alameda Central on the day I arrived in Mexico City at the end of March and was greeted with the exquisite beauty of the jacaranda trees in bloom. I kept coming back to this area to relax, people watch and stroll around....More

This is a great place for people-watching: Between 4pm and 7pm, you will see many locals here relaxing, children playing with water fountains and young people (practicing) dancing.

If you are not staying in the Historico Centro, at least Uber past this magnificent memorial. It is heroic architecture appropriate to the location and this great and dynamic city.

The Alameda is worth a stroll if you are in the area, if only to see the fountains, statutes, and the monument to Benito Juarez. There is usually a market going on. The park is pretty busy with pedestrians, tourists, and skaters.
