Climbing @ los dinamos

The place is beautiful, it's extremely close to the city which makes it ideal for a one day or even half day visit. Climbing is awesome, with hundreds of trad and sport routes

It was quite a hike to get to the upper Dinamos but it was well worth it. Apparently this area had a bad reputation in the old days and that contributes to it being considerably quiet all year round. We got up to a particularly quiet area and had a picnic in total solitude. The only person we saw was... More

I was lucky enough to own a car when I lived in Mexico City, so I could drive myself to the end of the road in Los Dinamos. At the top, there is a little-used trail behind the sluce gates where you can basically hike to estado de mexico. It is beautiful out there. The are a couple of tianguis... More

A good place to run, walk or ride a bycicle. There are several mexican food restaurants. Sunday is a picnic area, so you must arrive early to get a good place to stay.

You can take a lovely walk in the morning, around 11, to enjoy the landscape and relax. With children, there is horse riding and places to play ball games. Do not miss the excellent quesadillas several boots offer, and if you dare, you can even try pulque made in the area, which is very good, though personally I don't like... More

if it was cleaner it would be the perfect place for campers and climbers but I don´t know if it´s safe enough at night. The nature is beautiful thou.

takes just two city buses to get there, but it's worlds apart from the city. great fresh fish, soups, etc plus just picnicing and hanging out. virtually no gringo tourists. very impressive scenery. reminds me of Yosemite.

los dinamos was fabulous. It was great getting away from the city. This place is very cool, I can't wait to go back, however this time I will bring a jacket/hat. It was sunny in the city when we left, but when we arrived on the top of the mountain, it was a bit chilly. I do regret not bringing... More
