If you are an architect this is a must see sight It's not expensive as every thing in the city but you will remember it for the rest of your life The journey of the architect mind and body through the house is really touching and the stories told by the guide there is a great deal of the experience... I took many many photos of this home and studio. Today, in Chicago, I met in the elevator of my building an architect friend. He said that one of colleagues admired Louis Barragan as his favorite architect. His buildings are designed with widows high on the wall through which the sunshines at different time--changing the color of the wall on... More

Was so happy to have snagged the last spots available online before our visit. Although the tour was in Spanish, and ours is basic to intermediate, we were able to learn a lot about this incredible home and studio. Would recommend to architectural buffs in particular. I’m intrigued to visit other Barragan designed buildings and gardens as a result of... More

If you are considering taking a tour, do it! The home is beautiful and its history is fascinating, no matter what your level of interest in architecture. Be sure to check online for specific dates and times for the English tour and be sure to reserve in advance. I noticed some people complaining on TA about being turned away and... More

Having visited the Louis Barragan Casa around 3 years ago and being fascinated about this museum at that time, we were - now - extremely disappointed about the attempted visit. A very impolite security-man opened the door and told us 'no entrance without prior reservation' and closed the door instantaneously, there were no other visitors. After some further unsuccessful attempts... More

Great example of what happens when a foundation takes over a work of architecture. The house was amazing, the tour was very interesting and we were allowed in most of the house except for the service area. Barragan was a genius and this house shows how much. The many modifications made to the house show you should not be afraid... More

We arrived at the last minute referred by a shop owner who had previously worked there. We were received very curtly by the staff members who were not polite or helpful. They indicated that we needed an appointment. They did not suggest that we wait in case there was a cancellation or help us find an alternate time to visit.... More

This home (museum) was recommended to me by a very well known art critic and I have never stopped thanking her. First of all, you have to be really patient with regard to reservations. I had to go to the site because they do not answer the website reservation or email requests. The first time I made a reservation for... More

I was back after 10 years and it was worth every minute I spent inside. This is the house of an extraordinary architect who was also a contemplative man with a spiritual side to him. The spaces he designed relate to the inner life. You cannot but be affected by his use of color and space. Locating the house and... More
