We travel all over the world and always try and find the best cocktail places to try wherever we travel. We made reservation at Hanky Panky and Jules Basement while in Mexico City along with dinner reservations at Maximo Bistrot and Pujol. BTW, go to both those restaurants. Great Food! Our reservation was at 8:00pm and we made it there... More

Coming from New York, whenever you are at a cocktail bar where the drinks are under $10 - that's a find. This spot wouldn't be out of place in the East Village, with $16 cocktails. You can make a reservation through Jules Basement's Facebook page, but they only take reservations for seats between 8-9:30 - otherwise it's first come first... More

Loved the speakeasy concept. As expected, security guard at the entrance made a bit of a scene asking for our reservations and making us wait by the door. Not welcoming at all. Once inside it was alright, although service wasn't super friendly or efficient. Cocktails were great (Oscar Wilde and Mamie Z), but food took 40+ mins. Live Tuesday jazz... More

Its hard to find but once you get there a good time is guaranteed. The best aviation cocktail of my life. Reservations are recommended in order to improve your experience.

Jules Basement is trendy speakeasy located beneath an unassuming cantina. To access it, you must walk through the restaurant to an industrial refrigerator door, where a doorman in a suit will likely be standing. When the refrigerator door opens, a staircase is revealed that leads to the bar, where young and stylish locals sip fancy cocktails. The cocktails were some... More

The guy at the door acted like we needed a reservation, goes downstairs, then comes back up and let us go down. Once downstairs we find out there's only one seat at the bar, but they knew that we were a couple.

Hi Ana! Thanks for your visit and for the time writing about us. Due we are a reduce place, because we want to keep the ambience of Prohibition Era speakeasies, reservations are recommended to all our visitors in order to assure them a preferential entrance and a table, this doesn't mean that we only accept reservations, if our security staff... We don't go to places like this at home but frequently try them while traveling for fun. Cool atmosphere and good drinks. Music volume + the super drunk lady yelling at the top of her lungs next to us detracted. I'd recommend giving it a try but not if it means waiting a long time in the cantina upstairs.

To go there you have to pass through a restaurant that looks like a cantina, pretty basic by the way. An industrial fridge door is there, at the end of the restaurant, with a guard. I was accompanied by a good Customer, so that the entrance was easy. But it gives the feeling to be "reserved" to well-known people. There... More
