Went to see the old Inquisition Palace, today the Museum of Mexican Medicine and found this exhibition. Museography and the audio guide were poor. Staff was playing music so loud I couldn't listen to the guide in the first two stops. It was not crowded and we were bumping into people all the time. Better to watch a good documentary.... More

We went to this Museum specifically for the medical element, the inquisition section is separate to the main body of the museum which is free. This building used to be a medical school and as such has a really interesting history and collection of objects. The items are displayed well and explained clearly too. I found this extremely interesting.

I expected a lot more from this museum. I certainly didn't expect to be bored. But I was so I left. Instruments of torture I think emphasize the banality of evil.

This little museum is well worth a visit, although it is not a place to bring children. It features a collection of Medieval/early modern torture instruments, and it can be a somewhat nauseating experience to learn about the sadism that was once part of religious law enforcement.
