About
Barrio Alameda is a charming little pet friendly shopping gallery in the heart of Mexico City, at walking distance from Centro Historico, filled with history, restaurants and shops selling a mix of local design and lifestyle products, from food and drinks or health and beauty to Mexican indigenous and modern arts and crafts, everyone can find their favourite. Built in the late 1920s, this renovated Art Deco building provides the perfect environment for relaxation and could serve as a “sanctuary” from all the surrounding buzz of the big metropolitan city thanks to its peaceful atmosphere and greenery planted everywhere. On the third floor of the building is a modern boutique B&B which adds to the gallery’s unique vibe. Last but not least, Barrio Alameda has a large rooftop terrace restaurant from where you can watch Mexico City’s skyline with Alameda Central, the first public park in the Americas, in front, or just enjoy the life go by with a coffee, beer or a typical Mexican Mezcal

This fun market place has indoor boutiques and restaurants. I highly recommend the roof top restaurant for the view and good view.

Cosy and personal shoppinggalleria with many interesting shops and nice restaurants. The buildning is a renovated old classical house. The roof terass is great for food or drinks. Definately worth visiting!

Carefully restored art deco building hosting a small cafeteria, various restaurants offering international and Mexican cuisine, amazing rooftop terrace with incredible view of Alameda Central.
Also a really good place for shopping with all the small stores selling clothes, accessories, decoration, records etc.
Ideal place if you want to recharge some energy after a busy day visiting Mexico city's historic center. 100% recommended.

Barrio Alameda combines and synthetized the contemporary design, art, and -even- food and mezcal from Mexico, faraway of the typical handcraft, all of them into an Art Deco building of the earliest 20th century.
(Don't let it go if you don't try the delicious Marquesitas)

This "plaza" is a reconditioned neighborhood turned into cool shops and restaurants. The architecture alone is worth visiting.
The food offer is good and the shops offer a modern folklore vibe.
There’s a restaurant at the top, called “La Azotea” which have an incredible view of Mexico City’s downtown park La alameda.
This can be a starting or ending point of a day in downtown, walking distance from all mayor sightseeing spots.

We visited this place on a Friday night, it was small but it was very busy, it has a new concept and some restaurants around where you can get a pitch of beer or some good food.

If you are in downtown you can enjoy this beautiful refurbished building. Hungry? Try a Marquesita, delicious ice cream, mexican tacos or even great hamburgers and pizza. There is a small nice terrace on the fourth floor looking to the park. Shopping? You will find interesting stores with local mexican designers products.

This is a place where you can find great options to eat, shopping mexican utensils, shoes, clothes, vinyls, and a perfect choice to try the best mezcal in town in "Mundana" (please try the cocktails with mezcal and the guacamole y chapulines/grasshopper). It is right besides Alameda Park, so if you are going around downtown this should be your option for a large break!!

Do some exercise and climb four flours to the rooftop of this 1930's building overlooking the Alameda and all the wonderful colonial churches surrounding it. The contrast with the XXI century architecture of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is amazing. Have a local brew from Colima, enjoy portobello mushroom au gratin or a grilled cheese sandwich. Fun and bohemian.
