I've been in Oaxaca for years but recently made my way to the Guelaguetza for a concert. It provides beautiful views and is actually a lot cleaner than I thought. The only thing is that they don't serve any kind of snacks or drinks inside...More

We walked from mid-town to mount the stairs to the auditorium several times. The first time was for the view and experience. The second time was for some necessary exercise after a week of overeating. Probably would be a great concert venue.

Everything about this ..... is Great. The Oaxacan food is to die for (the spicy Mole is world-class). The entertainment is a conglomeration of a dozen districts from all over the state, dressing up in local costumes and bringing their dancing and music, that makes...More

The auditorio is nice, but it's during the festival that it's awesome! The dancers, bands, singers and local groups of children are delightful. I especially love the traditional clothing and dances.

Being in Oaxaca during Guelaguetza week was fantastic because of all the side events, but the actual festival was totally worth it. For Mexico, the tickets are expensive (about $40) but waiting all night for the free seats wasn't an option for us. There is...More
