This massive cathedral in Oaxaca is beautiful and usually you’ll see it anyway. Go as well inside the church and see the nice paintings. Also the plaza in front is beautiful. Don’t miss the great Etnobotanical garden on the backside. Enjoy this wonderful city!

A guy gave a little speech about the church while I was there. He asked for donations for the church afterwards. I gave him all the change I had because all I had was large bills. The guy had the audacity to complain that it...More

⭐️⭐️⭐️ ½ A beautiful church with several capillas inside. A lot of gold altars in a baroque fashion. Reminded me of similar churches in Latin America, namely Quito and Peru. A center of many activities. We visited daily.

Worth seeing. very ornate. We were very lucky to go in straight after a service as that is the only time that the church is completely lit up for the service and a little while after. Incredible decorations; some of which incorporate Zapotec imagery

You have to visit this museum, because it is impressive for the following reasons: the architecture of an old monastery, the displayed art objects and the beautiful garden with hundreds of cactuses. Definitely one of the best sights in Oaxaca, if not the best.

This is a really breathtaking church inside with particularly fabulous ceilings. Just be warned that on Saturday it is wall to wall weddings which makes getting inside a lottery but the wedding and the celebrations outside after are an amazing experience of vibrancy, colour and...More

The best guide ever is Omar Lescas Diaz. His English is wonderful and he knows "all" the history of the area. It may not be worth his while to do one building like this. He is excellent for Monte Alban and the natural tour... More
