My husband and I took 4 days of individual 3 hour private lessons at this school. Our teachers were Hector, Chris, and Miriam - all very good to excellent. I had some Spanish under my belt but was very rusty, my husband had very little. We both know some Italian and would constantly mix the 2 together. Each teacher took... More

Attended this school in 1998 or 1999 and again in 2016. The guy who runs it is very organized, friendly, helpful, and you get a strong sense that he knows exactly how to teach you Spanish at whatever level you are. I recommend spending one or more weeks there. I've spent a total of 6 weeks at this school, and... More

I only had a couple of hours and wanted some help to fill in gaps I was missing - so far I have only been learning Spanish from the internet and learning programs, and was having difficulty especially with verb conjugations. Rogelio agreed to meet me at my hotel for a 1:1 lesson and it was SO helpful. In only... More

At first I was a little discouraged from attending the school despite all the brilliant reviews after finding out that the school is a little way of of the centre of Oaxaca. However, having tried to learn a few different languages in different facilities worldwide, I can honestly say that this was by far my best experience. I was lucky... More

I loved studying at Amigos del Sol. I decided to move to Oaxaca from the U.S. to do my best to become fluent in Spanish. I knew that immersion was the best way to get this done but I was also concerned about how I would fare if I just threw myself in without much of a foundation. I took... More

I only studied at this school for one day prior to getting sick, but I had a great experience and both of my teachers during that day were very good. I had other plans to study with a private teacher that fell through last minute. Rogelio worked very hard to fit me into the schedule during a very busy time... More

My wife and I took Spanish lessons for a few days on our trip to Oaxaca. I highly recommend Amigos del Sol. Rogelio was super flexible with finding a teacher for my wife and I, with only one days notice. We were able to choose how many hours per day we wanted which was great, so that we could still... I have had two, two week sessions at Amigos Del Sol on my last two visits to Oaxaca. My teacher, Isis, was excellent, and there were usually only 2 students in my class. While I gained the ability to express myself to native speakers, it will take much more study on my part to be able to follow two native... More

When I studied abroad in Oaxaca for two weeks during January 2015, we spent 3 days learning Spanish here. I took the most advanced class, and having already taken 8+ years of Spanish, I was worried I would be disappointed with the class. However, I the lessons were largely conversational based, and I met people from Taiwan, Idaho, and elsewhere.I... More
