La Mano Magica is magic. They have a high quality selection of crafts from the Oaxaca area. The art in the back rooms is excellent, including a number of collages by Morales, worth the visit just to see these.

La Mano Magica has been around a long time, and in the last few years has seemed brighter and fresher in its offerings. The textiles, carvings are first-rate, often one of a kind and beguilingly displayed. The art gallery — three spacious rooms — takes...More

I visited this charming restaurant twice during my 8 days in Oaxaca. As the name indicates, this place really has a magical aura about it. The food is delicious and creative. All the plates we tried were delicious: salad with jamaica (hibiscus flowers), the veggie...More

A small craft store specalizing on higher-quality Oaxacan crafts. This is a good place to go to get a fell for the higher-end of Oaxacan craft.

The store is interesting to vist, very Frida-esque decor. Mostly items of pressed tin, not much variety of textiles.

I have visited this shop each time in Oaxaca for the past few years. It is quite small but always stocks a few new things that are intriguing. It specializes in small, quirky artisan items.
