We got an English language guided tour, free. We had arranged it a few days in advance. even without the tour if you read the printed materials you will find the building has been used as a hotel and parking lot, mechanic's garage. The Harp Helo Foundation restored much of the building in the past ten years. Excavations revealed a... More

San Pablo is an amazing place to visit. There are multiple activities (concerts, exhibits) at the Museum. You can also visit its Chapter and the Library. The building is beautiful, always clean and in excellent conditions. You can also stop by the restaurant that offers a variety of Mexican-Lebanese food or have a warm traditional chocolate at the coffee shop.... More

GO GO GO TO ALL of the colonial churches in Oaxaca City. It is but one way to rid yourself of the blase notion of "seen one, seen 'em all." Each is different. Train your eye. Read the books. Look at the facades. Just sit and watch the people.

This thoughtfully renovated complex seamlessly integrates ancient and modern architectural styles. The complex houses exhibits, a coffee shop and is great for simply strolling and admiring.

This little gem is actually a complex of coffee shop, restaurant, exhibit area, and museum. The exhibits there are often very specific to the indigenous and still vibrant cultures of the valley of Oaxaca. A very beautifully landscaped and lovingly restored space,

Lovely remake of this church, ex-convent & grounds. Not a tremendous amount to see, but what we did see (primarily a pinata exhibit) was very good.

This small space serving a number of functions is another place to escape the bustle of the city. It's atrium is very cheery and quiet. It often has exhibits. The one I saw was a photo exhibit relating to a rediscovery of a forgotten (neglected) part of Oaxaca State I think in the mid 30's. And be sure to keep... More
