Susana Trilling is not only an amazing chef but a phenomenal teacher. Her ability to teach cooking is not limited to demonstrations or verbal dialogue, it is a visual, tactile even olfactory journey punctuated with tastings along the way. This is no more evident than in the preparation of mole. At each step, it is about the individual ingredient and... More

This was an interesting day. A moderate distance to Etla and the market. Since Yolanda lives in that village, she knows many people. The market tour was quite good with explanations of many of the produce items and how they are used. Lots of items we Americans are most likely not familiar with. I liked that the mango we have... From the time I met the rest of the group at Susanna's restaurant until the bus dropped me back in Oaxaca in the evening the attention was all on food. The tamale tasting at the Elta market was worth the price of the class. The barbed wire gate at the entrance to Susanna's home and location of the cooking school... More

Great experience, just the market tour alone was worth the price! We ate our way through the market, it was great. The class was well organized, informative, fun and delicious. Susana and her staff were great. They offer several different classes on various subjects. Highly recommend you attend one while vacationing in Oaxaca.

When visiting a foreign country, one of the first activities a tourist should do is take a cooking class. While walking in the center of Oaxaca, we came upon a beautiful courtyard on Calle Cinco de Mayo near the church of Santo Domingo and stumbled into the office of Seasons of my Heart Cooking School. We decided to sign up... More

The market in Etla is beautiful and Susanna's kitchen at her ranch is awesome. Preparing a six course meal under her direction with a group of people was such a great way to spend the day.

Oaxacan cuisine has become the best-known of the Mexican regional cuisines in the United States, and this is a great opportunity to learn about them from one of the great Oaxacan chefs. Susana Trilling has traveled into all the distant corners of the state to bring back the best of recipes which have been handed down and elaborated upon through... More

Susana Trilling is spectacular. Not only is she a published cookbook author and host of her own TV show on Public Television, she also is an accomplished teacher and host. My husband and I took one of her one-day classes when we visited Oaxaca in December. We had a wonderful time, and were deeply moved by Susana's commitment to preserving... More
