The former estate of "El Chorrillo" is a beautiful sixteenth-century historic site located in the northern part of the city of Taxco de Alarcon. The building, which was owned by the Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortez, is considered one of the first profit mining estates in America. The public university of Mexico has a school for foreigners to learn Spanish there so we went to explore the possibility of studying there. The staff were very receptive, kind, and encouraging. The grounds are a little in disrepair, but in a charming sort of way. The pool is kept clean.
