Fab visit

Had a lovely time in this area of Taxco. Fantastic choice of shops with silver products and lots of other shops for souvenirs too.

Small town with small streets. It is really convenient to walk and move by public transportation (taxi cabs).

We took a side trip here from Ixtapan del Sal and actually cut the day short because of the problems in Central Plaza. First, the exchange rate with the vendors and restaurants are 15 not 18 pesos to dollar. Second, you will be hounded by people selling trinkets- so much that you will have to take refuge off the street.... More

We Took a tour to Taxco. It is about a 2 1/2 hour trip from Mexico City. Lots of great silver to see. Some one of a kind pieces and others are replicated in other stores so look around before you buy. You can negotiate on prices at most stores. They don't give a lot off but every little bit... More

If you want to try being a local for a little while when you visit Zihuatenejo, give this local market a visit when you're in town. My wife and I did just that on our last vacation there in early November, and discovered how friendly and charming the people in this town are. We picked up bakery goods, cheese, and... More

Came here a couple times during my stay! Great place to spend the day. Lots of souvenirs to choose from. To keychains, cups & shirts all at a reasonable price!

If you are looking to buy silver, this is the place to do it. There are plenty of shops around the area with a wide variety of selection. Good to look around and explore a bit.

Imagine your friendly neighborhood strip mall. Then, imagine each store filled with silver from front to back. Now you can picture Taxco. Beware, the street vendors are endless.

The fish smell isn't lovely.... but it is well worth it. Fresh fish, fresh meat, already cooked goods, other foods, purses, clothes, souvenirs..... literally almost everything!! Try the dairy free string cheese.... it is to die for!!

This place sells about anything. We have bought souvenirs, shoes, clothes, and food to cook or already made. They will bargain on all their prices and that's about half the fun. They are right on the bus route so cheap and easy to get to.

Thank Gloria R
